Driven by a deep curiosity for the instrument itself, Jinsang took the rare step of studying piano manufacturing firsthand at Steinway Austria and Steinway Hamburg, under the guidance of master technician Stefan Knüpfer, featured in the documentary "Pianomania". This intimate knowledge of piano construction continues to shape his search for the ideal sound.

Jinsang studied under Daejin Kim in Korea, and later with Wolfgang Manz, Julia Goldstein in Germany and Pavel Gililov in Austria. He currently serves as Professor of Piano at the Korea National University of Arts, nurturing the next generation of artists. In addition to his performance career, he is a respected writer on classical music, contributing regularly to Korean publications.
